Somalia is highly vulnerable to climate change, with recurrent droughts, floods, land degradation, and increasing pressure on natural resources threatening food security and rural livelihoods.
HNC supports communities through locally led and nature-based solutions that strengthen climate adaptation, protect ecosystems, and improve livelihoods. Our work aligns with the Paris Agreement, Somalia’s NDCs, the Sendai Framework, and the SDGs.

Flagship Initiative
One of our flagship initiatives, the AgriSolar Water Resilience–Galkacyo Initiative, promotes solar-powered irrigation as an alternative to diesel-based agriculture, reducing emissions, improving water management, and increasing agricultural productivity.
By 2030, HNC aims to expand renewable energy, strengthen early warning systems, and build climate-resilient communities across Puntland and Somalia.
