Sustainable Livelihoods

HNC promotes sustainable and nature-positive livelihoods that improve household incomes while protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, and strengthening climate resilience.

We support communities in adopting sustainable agricultural practices and environmentally responsible enterprises that improve food security while reducing pressure on natural resources.

Our interventions include climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, beekeeping, horticulture, sustainable fisheries, poultry production, and other green enterprises that create resilient and diversified livelihood opportunities.

Community empowerment is central to our work, with particular attention given to women and young people through skills development, entrepreneurship, cooperative strengthening, leadership, and improved market access.

By 2030, HNC aims to improve the livelihoods and food security of more than 50,000 households across Puntland and Somalia.
