Community Development
Building informed, healthy, and empowered communities through a One Health approach that connects healthy ecosystems, quality education, community well-being, and sustainable livelihoods.
Horn Nature Conservation (HNC) believes that long-term environmental conservation depends on informed, healthy, and empowered communities. Through our One Health approach, we recognize the strong connection between healthy ecosystems, quality education, community well-being, and sustainable livelihoods.
Our interventions focus on environmental awareness, capacity building, livelihood support, community health and WASH programs, Eco-School Clubs, and leadership development, with particular emphasis on women, youth, and vulnerable communities.
We also integrate practical environmental solutions into our programs through the solarization of schools and health centers, tree planting, and the development of greener and more resilient community institutions.
Through this integrated approach, HNC aims to build communities with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to lead and sustain conservation and development efforts across Puntland and Somalia.
